Description
WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS is the heartwarming tale of a young boy whose hard work and determination help him to realize a dream and endure a heartbreak. More than anything else, Billy Coleman wanted a pair of hunting dogs. Billy scrimped and saved until he had enough money to purchase the two redbone hounds he longed for. Named for lovers carved in a tree, "Dan and Ann" immediately win the hearts of the entire family. Billy patiently trains them in the local sport of "coon" hunting, and they soon become the best in the state, but it is love given and returned that forms the basis of true caring and courage.
